Names

As a class make up names that you think could be included in a novel and put all the names in a hat. Each student should then pick out a name and use that name to develop a character. They should then pair up with another class mate and develop a short dialogue between their two characters.

New Vocab

Ask the students to list ten words from the book they don't know and use these words in a short story.

Guess the Character

Choose one of the characters from the book and think about how he or she would look, walk and act in general. Find some clothes from home and bring them into class.
