This book is written from the perspective of a young child which gives the whole novel a different feel than if it had been written in the voice of an adult narrator. The objectives of this lesson will be to discuss some of the things that show that this is from the eyes of a young boy and to examine how this affects the feeling and tone of the narrative.

Now read aloud with the class a part from another book in this young adult genre that is written from the viewpoint of an adult.
