This character is determined to make a name for himself in the navy, pushing his crew to great lengths to accomplish his own goals. Despite this his willingness to reward good deeds earns him the loyalty of the men.
Lady Grace Hale
She seems cold but is actually a very passionate woman. By the end of the book she has much to thank Sharpe for.
Captain Peculiar Cromwell
His poor decisions leads to his ship's capture and later these decisions become suspicious.
Lord William Hale
This character demands much and gives little. When Sharpe helps him out, he thanks him, but insists they can never see each other...
