1) Class Discussion: What was Cicero known for throughout his life? Why was it important that he was recognized as a writer as well as an orator? In what way did Cicero combine his two abilities effectively in his career? Does the class think that Cicero had an advantage in having the ability to write his own speeches? Why or why not?
