Lesson 1 (from Chapter 1, Freeway of Love)

Objective

Jerry looks at dating. He says that dating is a lot like a job interview.

The aim of his lesson is to examine Seinfeld's thoughts on dating.

Lesson

1) Class discussion. What does Jerry think about dating? How does he express his thoughts humorously? Do the students think there is serious side to what he is saying? How does Seinfeld express his ideas so the audience can relate to what he is saying?

2) With the students devise a scenario about dating. Divide the students into two groups. One group should develop a serious discussion about dating while the other group should of ways to mock the serious students ideas. End the lesson with a discussion between the two groups.
