Trout Fishing in America
Richard Brautigan (1935 - 1984) was an American novelist, poet, and short story writer. Brautigan is often cited as the one author to best capture the transition between the Beat Generation and the San Francisco Counterculture Movement during the late 1960s. Brautigan's written work includes ten novels, ten poetry collections, and one collection of short stories, as well as five volumes of collected work and several nonfiction works. In today's lesson, students are introduced to the author Richard Brautigan and will research his biography, style, and major works.
