Objective
The objective of this lesson is to discuss the Paquette's farm, and why it is so important to Tyler to save it. Tyler's family has been on the farm for generations. Tyler is upset when his parents consider selling the farm.
Lesson
Class Discussion: When do Tyler's parents begin to discuss selling the farm? Why will it not be easy to replace Grandpa and Tyler's father? Why does Tyler feel desperate when his parents discuss selling the farm? Why does Tyler equate selling the farm with his grandfather's death? Why is keeping some of the land and building a new house not as good as keeping the farm? How does Tyler miss the farm when he is in Boston? How is the farm almost a part of himself? Why is it important for Tyler to save the farm and keep it in the family?
