Objective

William Faulkner is a famous and influential American author.

The aim of this lesson is to learn about Faulkner's work.

Lesson

1) Discuss with the students what they already know about William Faulkner. What previous books has he written? What do the students think are the major themes of his work. Divide the students into groups of three and ask them to compile a bibliography of his previous books. On the students return, assign each group a book to research. They need to find out the major characters, the setting, the story and the main themes of the work. After 25 minutes compare the students findings and finish the lesson with a discussion. Do Faulkner's books have similar characters, themes, or settings? How do the students think his work matured over the years?
