Objective
The objective of this lesson is for students to analyze Mock's relationship with her mother as a young person, and to delve into Elizabeth Mock's background and early struggles. As a very young child, Mock adores and idolizes her mother, and when her mother sends her to live with her father Charles II in Oakland, Mock finds it hard to adjust. Mock continues yearning for her mother, Elizabeth, and her grandmother, Pearl, in Hawaii.
