Chapter 1
• Harry Angstrom stares out of the window on Springer Motor, the showroom where he works. He jointly owns 50% of the showroom with his wife. His mother in law owns the other half. It is one of two Toyota dealerships in Brewer, PA.
• Harry think back to the time Old Springer ran the place like an iron fist and would even keep business open on snowy days. Things have become much easier since he died and Harry has found himself actually liking the place.
• Harry talks to the Senior Sales Representative, Charles Stravos. Harry and Charlie have a good working relationship despite the fact Charlie once had an affair with Harry's wife. They talk about the state of the oil market, but their conversation dies out before any intimacy develops between them.
