Pihkal, A Chemical Love Story is a unique and controversial book. Divided into two books, Book One is a fictionalized autobiography of the author and his wife as they explore and experiment with the different psychedelic drugs created by the author. Book Two contains highly scientific and detailed instructions for the synthesis of over 170 phenethylamines created by the author and his scientific team. In today's class, students are introduced to Pihkal, A Chemical Love Story and its author, Alexander Shulgin.
