Lesson 1 (from Part I (Foreward - Page 52))
Objective
The objective of this lesson is for students to analyze how Ross's choice to tell the story in Picture from her first-person point of view affects the reader's perceptions of the characters and the action. While Ross does not reveal many details about herself - her past, her personality, or her personal feelings about what she sees during her reporting - she seems to strive for objectivity in her reporting, offering specific and relevant details about her subjects.
