Objective
The objective of this lesson is for students to analyze Emezi's descriptions of the revolution in Lucille. Sometime before Jam's birth, people who are referred to as "angels" took over the running of the town, rooting out bad actors called "monsters" in the areas of leadership, authority, and law enforcement. The angels ordered the disbandment of the police, meted out measures for rehabilitation and restitution, and erected new statues and public monuments to those who were victims and/or heroes of the old order.

Class Discussion: What is unique about the way the town of Lucille? Who are the "angels" in Lucille? What was the role of angels in Lucille's revolution? What was Lucille like both before and after the revolution? What are some reasons that the revolution happened in the first place?
