Objective
As we read the opening chapters of the book, we are introduced to the main character, Penny, as well as two vital sets of contributors to mystery in her everyday life--her paternal and maternal relatives with whom she lives; and the questions that she constantly asks herself and others surrounding her father, the circumstances surrounding his death; and what Heaven is like--that all have been and remain unanswered. The objective of this lesson is to examine the element of mystery as presented in the story.
