Lesson 1 (from Chapters 1-9)
Objective
The objective of this lesson is to discuss the point of view of the novel in Chapters 1 to 9 and how Pennypacker's choice of viewpoint affects the story. Chapters alternate from Peter's point of view and Pax's point of view and are told using a third-person limited viewpoint. What readers know about events and characters is determined by the point of view in a book.
