Objective

Objective: In Act 1, Scene 1, the characters are identified quite easily by their looks and speech patterns. This lesson will discuss what is known about the three main characters.

1) Class Discussion: Who are the three main characters? How do you know they are the main characters?

Small Group Activity: Choose one of the three characters and create a graphic organizer, listing characteristics about that person.

Class Discussion: Create a class graphic organizer for each character.

Homework: Write a short essay describing each character, as well as what you think his or her role will be in the play, using the text and graphic organizers for support.
