Objective
The objective of this lesson is to examine what Naomi and Melvin are waiting for, and why they are so impatient. Naomi and Melvin have written to a publisher. They are impatient to get Naomi's comic published.

Class Discussion: What question does Melvin ask Flippy in Chapter 1? How long has it been since they emailed the publisher lady? What does the fact that it has been ten minutes since the email was sent reveal about Melvin's struggle to wait? How does Naomi respond when Melvin tells her there has been no reply from the publisher lady yet? What does her response reveal about how she is feeling as she waits? What is Naomi expecting will happen when the publisher lady reads her comic? How do Naomi's expectations make her impatient? Why are Naomi and Melvin impatient?
