Visit a Local Museum

Visit a local museum to see how your town and the surrounding area participated in the Civil War. If you're fortunate enough to live in a metropolitan area, you will have more options of exhibits and opportunities, but even small towns usually have some sort of museum or displays of local participation in the Civil War.

It is said that an army travels on its stomach. Do some research on what Civil War soldiers ate and find some recipes that you can make at home and bring in to share with the class.
