Objective
The objective of this lesson is for students to explore the author’s background and personal interest in the subject matter reflected in the novel. Elizabeth Strout is an American writer and novelist. She is most known for her works such as Oliver Kitteridge, which won the 2009 Nobel Prize for Fiction, and Amy and Isabelle, which won the 2000 PEN/Faulkner award for fiction.
