Acting presence

Write each character's name on a piece of paper. Almost like charades, have a student act out this person but the actor can talk. However, the actor cannot mention names or places that give away the answer.

Suspense stories

Have each student write a fictional suspense short story, in the style of James Bond.

Field trip to the jewelers

Have each student visit an upscale jewelry shop and report on how they are received. The student take note of which shop, what the level of prices are, who they go with, what they are wearing and other little details. Compare and contrast student's experiences.

Emergency box

Provide a small box for groups of five or six. Each person is to bring something that they want to put in their box in case of a "final emergency". Keep the boxes until the end of the school year...
