Lesson 1 (from Chapters 1-5)
Objective
For many people, the idea of brands is nothing that's strange or new. Today's objective is to discuss before the book continues on, what the power of brands and logos really are in the course of a student's life.
Lesson
1. Have students make a list of all of the brands or logos they might be wearing or using at the moment.
2. In smaller groups, have students discuss whether they think there is ever such a thing as too much branding.
3. As a class, have the students discuss the power that brands have over their own lives. Do they have to spend more of their money in order to have certain brands? Do they avoid certain brands?
4. Homework: Have students write about a time when not having a certain brand caused the student to be impacted negatively.
