Write Your Own Horror Story
Stephen King's stories in Night Shift all have some commonalities, such as time period, cliffhangers, and of course, the elements of horror, suspense and mystery. Using his stories as a template, write your own horror story to share with the class.
Acting
Working together in groups, choose a story from Night Shift to turn into a skit. Write the script and act it out in front of the class.

Read another book by King and compare/contrast with Night Shift. Have the students compare the style of the book, the tone, and other elements of the story with Night Shift and present their findings to the class.
