Board Game

Students will work in assigned groups and make a board game based on the events from the novel. They may have penalty cards for inappropriate activity or decisions. Decorate the board according to the novel. Since baseball plays a significant part of this novel, students may make a baseball type board game. They may have questions from the novel for a single, double, triple, home run, etc. Have them let their imaginations go and come up with something unique. Make sure to have sufficient art supplies available. Boards can be pizza boxes, with the game on top and directions, etc. stored in the box. Also, craft foam makes a good board, as does poster board and/or pieces of thin plywood (1/8") if available.
