Objective
Objective: Act 1, Part 1. One of the main characters in the play is Rakitin, a friend of Natalya's family and a particular favorite of Natalya. While normally he is only seen in relation to Natalya, in this section the reader has the chance to see who he is and what his social expectations are in general. The objective of this lesson is to discuss the character Rakitin, including his personality and his connection with other people in his life.
