Districts

These are the thirteen sections in which the known world has been divided. Each has its own citizens and product, such as coal mines or farms, that contribute to the well being of all the known world, especially the Capital City. It is within these sections, especially in the thirteenth that had been thought destroyed, where the rebellions begin.

Hunger Games

This is an annual event in Panem in which two tributes from each district are chosen to fight to the death in a specially designed arena. These events are held to remind the districts of the futility of rebelling against the capital's power.

Panem

This is the name of the country. It is taken from a Latin phrase which translated means bread and circuses.
