Objective
The objective of this lesson is for students to explore the author, Louise Glück's, background and personal interest in the subject matter reflected in the poem. Students will discuss and research information like where the author is from, when she was born, and what other poems Glück has published. Students will consider how this information might impact their reading.
Louise Glück was born in New York in 1943. She has written many books of poetry and received the Nobel Prize for Literature in 2020.
