1. Describe Ponkaquogue (Ponky), giving details of the interior and exterior.
Ponky is a run-down golf course, "possibly the worst golf course in America" where the clubhouse is also called The Pit of Despair. There are often shopping carts and trash on the course, and the wallpaper is falling off the inside.
2. Among the Chops, who is more of a leader at Ponky in the first two chapters, Ray or Two Down? Why?
Two Down is more of a leader at the very beginning of the book because he establishes The Bet and convinces Ray and Dannie to participate.
3. What is ironic about the location of Ponky and The Mayflower Club?
The location of The Mayflower Club right next to Ponky is ironic because the reader does not expect such an exclusive club to be so close to a golf course in such poor condition, especially one that was rebuilt on top of a landfill.
