1) Class Discussion: This book covers twenty-five years of Douglas' career, including the development of the BSU. Do you know anything about John Douglas, the author? From the title, what do you gather is Douglas' occupation? Do you expect Douglas to be an expert in his field?

2) Group Research Project: Research, via the internet or at the library, the history of John Douglas. Information should include his early childhood, his career moves, his important cases, and his current life. Ask the students to present information to the class.

3) Individual Creative Writing: Write two pages on what events in Douglas' life led him to write this book. Why do students feel this topic is important to...
