• The first thing the narrator remembers is running.
• The narrator carries something while they run, and hugs it close to their chest: bread.
• Someone is chasing the narrator, calling for them to stop, as the bread in question has been stolen.
• Sometimes this vision comes to the narrator in a dream, sometimes it is a memory in the middle of the day.
• The narrator never sees who is chasing and calling them, and they never stop long enough to eat the bread.
• When the narrator awakens from the dream or memory, their legs are always shaking.
• Another boy was dragging the narrator, running.
• The other boy was much bigger than the narrator, with red hair.
• As they ran, sirens were wailing, and the narrator heard thumping noises...
