Objective
After having left Aletta alone several times while Zouga crossed the wilds and oceans in search of fortune, Aletta finally tires of waiting and insists that she and their boys accompany him on the next trip. When they reach Colesberg, Aletta begs Zouga to take her home, but he sells everything but their tent to buy two diamond claims. Shortly after they arrive in Colesberg, Aletta dies of typhoid fever and Zouga buries his wife. The object of this Lesson Plan is to explore loss and the coping methods for dealing with death.
