Objective: Preface There are some important pieces of history revealed in this section. The objective of this lesson will be to review some of this information and discuss what significance this information could have on the course of the plot.

1) Personal Response: Read aloud with the class the part where we read in the preface that Bolt meant the Common Man to represent all of us reading the play. Have the students write a short response about how this makes them feel. Are you surprised at this information? How will this bit of information affect how you view the plot? Do you think this is a good way to present this play? Why or why not? Call on some students to read their responses. Discuss some of the different ideas presented.
