Play Detective

The class is divided into two teams. Each team invents a mystery about a missing object in the school, for the other team to solve. They plant clues all over the school. Every day for a week, the teams have time in class to meet, share the clues they find, and try to locate the missing object.

Make a Board Game

Students work in groups to create mystery solving board games. They can use the game Clue as a model, but board games should reflect the setting of the novel.

Role Play Scenes from the Novel

Students come to class dressed as characters from the novel and role play various scenes.

Character posters

Students select a character from the novel. They then use magazine words and pictures, photographs, and three-dimensional objects to create a poster to represent that character.
