Lesson

1.) Class Discussion: As a class discuss the idea of "false security" and come up with a common description of this idea. Discuss the plot and how you feel about the false sense of security. Mama's Bank Account provides a sense of security for the children, although it is not real. Is this false sense of security good for the children? Does such an unawareness to reality set the children up for disaster if a catastrophe was to occur? How do you suppose the narrator feels after finding out this truth many years later?
