Lesson 1 (from Part I (Pages 1 - 95))

Objective

The objective of this lesson is for students to compare and contrast Kacey's and Mickey's characters in Part I. As a child, Mickey was shy, serious, and studious, and she grows up to be a career police officer. In contrast, Kacey is a wild and rebellious child who seems to go looking for conflict. As an older teenager and adult, Kacey cycles through periods of addiction to opioids and sobriety. Despite their different personalities, the sisters shared a strong bond as children and Mickey still cares deeply about Kacey as an adult.

Lesson
