The Power of Observation

The teacher will arrange for someone to enter the classroom briefly to speak with the teacher. In a few minutes that person will go out of the room and wait in the hallway. Students will then be asked to describe the person. What was he/she wearing? What color is his/her eyes? Hair? How tall is the person? etc. Then the person will be invited back in to see how well the students observed the first time.

Paper Trails

List on the board the places where people leave paper footprints in today's society. [e.g., credit card purchases, telephone calls mad, social networking sites, etc.] See how many examples students can come up with.
