Objective

Chapters 1-5

Jesus's nights are tormented by dreams in which he is pursued as "The One," and he doesn't know whether it is God or the Devil who visits him thus. The objective of this lesson is to discuss the confusion that arises from these dreams and what effect they have on Jesus.

Lesson

1) In-class Writing Assignment: In one to two paragraphs, have students answer the following questions: Jesus suffers from nightmares about what? Who is pursuing him in these nightmares and why?

2) In-class Group Work: Divide students into groups of 3 or 4, and have them discuss the following questions: Why is Jesus unable to discern whether it is God or the Devil pursuing him? Based on the information given, which do you think it is? Why?
