Objective
The objective of this Daily Lesson is for students to analyze the elements of magical realism in Kindred. In Part I, Butler transports Dana and Kevin both backwards in time by more than 100 years, not explaining how or why, but setting the reader's expectations that in the world she builds, such time-travel is possible.
