• The first chapter, Autumn, 2015 begins on page 1.
• Autumn, 2015 begins with a description of Kim Jiyoung, a 33-year-old mother living in “a small apartment on the outskirts of Seoul with her husband Jung Daehyun…and daughter Jung Jiwon” (1).
• Jiyoung left her marketing job just before her due date, and her husband works long hours for an IT company.
• Daehyun began to notice his wife’s strange behavior around September 8 “the morning of baengno (“white dew”), when Jiyoung opened the windows despite the cold and did an impression of her mother.
• Daehyun has found his wife crying at times but chalks it up to being an exhausted new mother.
• Daehyun comes home one night after work and he and Jiyoung have a couple beers.
• Jiyoung begins...
