Vizzini spoke open and honestly about his own issues with mental illness and strived to educate and help others. He lectured about the topic at schools and colleges. He used these platforms to help those suffering from depression and experiencing suicidal ideations.

2. How is Craig using pot to do an experiment on his brain?

Craig is seeing if smoking pot is affecting his brain and making his depression worse. He wonders if that is what has come into his life and "robbed him" (5). He smokes every once in a while for a few weeks, and then smokes a lot, just to test if the lack of pot is what is causing his depression.
