Old world or new?

Have the class draw a traditional vampire. Considering the things Louis says are believed about vampires that aren't true, have them then draw another picture that might depict some other kind of vampire.

Kill a Vampire

Louis tells the interviewer that crosses and a stake through the heart doesn't harm a vampire. Have students write a short play ending with the death of the vampire character. Encourage imagination and vote to see who can come out with the most outlandish way of causing the death.

Get Frightening

Have students come up with brief essays describing the most bloody, gory scene they can imagine from the life of Louis, Lestat or Armand. Give points for stepping outside the norm.

Vampire Frogs? Vampire Llamas?

Have students write a one-act play from the story but using some other creatures instead of vampires. For examples, Rabbits could be...
