Objective
The objective of this lesson is for students to explore the author’s background. Students will discuss facts about the author that are included in the book. Students will research information about the author and analyze why he may have wrote Indian Horse.
Lesson
Class Discussion: Who is the author of Indian Horse? When was he born? How old was he when the book was published? Where does he live? Has he written any other books? How might the author’s background influence your reading of the book?
Small Group Activity: In small groups, have students compile a list of facts about the author based on his biography and list of other works in the book.
