Objective

Chapter 1: Thanksgiving Special

Tobias Wolff is an American author who is also well known for his memoirs and his short stories. Wolff was born in Alabama and attended high school in Washington. Wolff attended The Hill School and was then expelled and he served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War era. Wolff then received a degree from Hertford College, Oxford and then continued to study at Standford University. A memoir is an autobiographical writing.

The objective of this lesson is to discuss the significance of Tobias Wolff and to examine the genre of a memoir.

Lesson

1) Pair Work: Research and Biography: Students should find information on Tobias Wolff and write a 1-2 paragraph biography to summarize his education and other information.
