Part One: The Follower
In a Strange Room, published in 2010, is a novel by award-winning South African playwright and novelist Damon Galgut. In the book, a South African man (with the same name as the author) travels in Greece, Lesotho, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Tanzania, and India, forming complicated relationships that provide the book's three section titles (Follower, Lover, and Guardian). In this lesson, students are introduced to the novel and will research and discuss author Damon Galgut.
