Identity Game
Make a list of identities that can include people of certain occupations or specific people such as movie stars known to everyone or even characters from books. Write the identities on paper, then tape an identity on the back of each student without letting them see their identity. Have the students mingle, asking the other students questions about who they might be. Let them do this for approximately 15 minutes then hold a class discussion over ho they felt about not knowing their identity. Ask how they would feel if they didn't like the identity they discovered they were, and compare it to how the members of the Soviet Union must have felt when the government assigned them their identities.
