Objective
Section 1, pp. 9-22 The novel "Il Giorno Della Civetta" is a great example of the progression of Italian literature after World War II. In fact, this novel holds on to many of the common themes found in most post-war novels that deal with subjects of realism and the human condition. This lesson will discuss the nature of post-war Italian literature.
Lesson
1. Group Activity: Have the class split into groups of four and conduct a search of themes often presented in post-war Italian literature and create a list of your findings. After your group completes the list have one member share your findings with the rest of class.
2. Class Debate: Have the class split into two groups and have each side argue whether this novel shows the impact WWII made on Italy or if it appears to have left out the ramifications left on the people living...
