Research

Research one element that is connected to the novel somehow. Create a presentation based on the research you have done and present it for the class. Possible topics to research: feud between two cultures, class of languages, censorship, or reading as a personal experience.

Letter to the Author

Write a letter to Calvino and tell him what you think about his book. What elements do you think he did well? At what points did you feel like you connected with the author?

Book Titles

Consider the way book titles are used in the novel to create one long sentence. Create your own sentence of existing book titles and write a paragraph explaining the meaning behind the sentence.

Create an advertisement for the book. You can make a commercial, skit, newspaper ad, or magazine ad for the book. Present it to the class.
