Objective

The objective of this lesson is for students to analyze the relationship and dynamics between Ed Phelps and Billy Idol in the story When We All Get to Heaven. Ed is completely and serendipitously swept up in Billy Idol's orbit, and, making a snap decision, he decides to go along with Billy's ruse to try to trick his record company executive and pull off a little mischief. The prank is quite out of character for Ed, but Kenan shows how a man who is out of his usual element may decide to do different things than he normally would.
