Possible Activities:

• Have the students discuss how this book would be different if written from the Viet Cong's point of view.
• When the soldiers come across the tunnel, explore with the students how things might be different they had sent a soldier down into the tunnel instead of throwing down two grenades. Have them rewrite this scene with this change.
Homework:
Provide the students with five or six rewritten statements from any source and have them identify from whose point of view they were written.
Challenge:
Provide the students with a passage from the book and have them rewrite it from a different point of view.
