Objective
The objective of this lesson is to discuss flashbacks in Chapters 1-5 and how the author uses flashbacks to develop storylines and provide background information. A flashback is a point in a story where the author takes readers back in time to present information that happened previously. Flashbacks can be used to reveal what happened in the past or to present details that readers need to know in order to understand a scene or character.
