Compose Interviews

Pretend you are a reporter and that you have decided to interview the men who hang out on Joe Clarke's porch, a setting featured in multiple stories in the collection entitled Hitting a Straight Lick with a Crooked Stick. Write an interview of several characters and their responses to questions about events depicted in stories such as “Sweat” and “The Bone of Contention.” Speak in your own voice within the interview questions, but write the men's responses in the dialect prescribed by Zora Neale Hurston within the characters' speech.
